The idea of the flashback, an unexpected trigger sensation instigating a vivid or overpowering memory is a key feature in the debate around memory. Deja-vu, fugue, spontaneous recollection; all aspects of the same unexpected reflex of memory unbidden by consciousness.

A great conundrum to represent visually, even with two sides of a banknote as your medium.
